The Family Law Section at SC&B is committed to providing quality, personalized legal representation and consultation to our clients. The section is staffed by three attorneys, Lisa Wolfard, who serves as the group chair, James Oliver and Tatyana Gidirimski. We are assisted by legal assistant Shelley Alexander and paralegal Ann Fukazawa.
We specialize in medium to high-end disputes involving business valuations, stock options, and division of closely held businesses and retirement assets. We also assist clients in the preparation of Parenting Plans and the negotiation of support issues.
Because we are a full-service law firm, we are able to benefit from the expertise and additional services available from our estate planning section, business and taxation section, and real estate section.
We encourage clients whenever possible to pursue mediation of their disputes and frequently consult with clients as they participate in the mediation process. If mediation is unsuccessful we are experienced in temporary parenting and support motions, trial preparation and strategy, and client advocacy at trial.
We are experienced in handling a variety of family law matters. A few of the areas in which we have particular expertise are as follows:
Prenuptial Agreements
Post Nuptial and Separate Property Agreements
Dissolution of Marriage and Legal Separation
Determination of Community and Separate Property Interests
Maintenance and other Matters Relating to Spousal Support
Tax Consequences of Divorce and Property Division
Valuation and Division of Closely Held Businesses, Stock Options and Retirement Assets
Development of Parenting Plans, Relocation Issues and Modifications
Determination of Calculation of Child Support and the Modification of Child Support Orders
Participation and/or Counsel in the Mediation Process
