Practice Description
Russell S. King is a member of Short Cressman & Burgess PLLC's Construction Law Section and Environmental and Natural Resources Section. As a trial lawyer, he has a track record of successfully resolving disputes for clients. He has represented clients ranging from sole proprietorships to multinational corporations, and litigated construction, environmental, complex contract, securities, and real estate disputes. He has brought and defended cases throughout the state and federal courts of Washington.

In addition to helping clients resolve disputes, Mr. King counsels construction industry clients in the negotiation and interpretation of contracts and the development of form contracts and specifications.

Mr. King was recognized as a "Rising Star" by Washington Law and Politics magazine in 2004, 2005 and 2006. He graduated from Georgetown University Law Center in 1998. While in law school, he was a member of his law school's barristers' council and moot court competition team. Prior to attending law school, Mr. King served four years as an officer in the United States Marine Corps.

Representative Cases
Freund v. Austin Royce Successfully represented homeowner in dispute against contractor to recover for defective work and delay damages. Obtained favorable jury verdict for client.

Kahn v. Mesher Successfully prosecuted breach of fiduciary duty claim in a real estate partnership dispute. Prevailed on summary judgment at the trial level and on appeal.

Issac v. Northland Communications Corporation Successfully defended a cable system operator in a multimillion dollar securities class action lawsuit. Obtained defense verdict at trial.

Steven Jensen Ltd. v. Donald L. Gardner, Inc. Successfully defended real estate developer in contract dispute involving large residential development in Maple Valley. Obtained favorable settlement.

P.O.I. v. King County and Northwest Aggregates Part of team that defended large sand and gravel supplier in permit dispute. Obtained favorable decision from the Shorelines Hearings Board.

Amazon v. Expedia Part of team that represented a major online retailer in breach of contract litigation. Favorable settlement obtained after extensive motions practice and discovery.
